Presentation

The 9th ECDDay – 9th English, Culture and Diversity Day is an annual event aimed at linguistic and cultural practice for the ILEEL, UFU and external community, revolving around the discussion of contemporary issues of extreme interest to the external young audience and university, contributing to the dissemination of information relevant to the consolidation of the internationalization of higher education.

For this year, the theme is “Internationalization at home and abroad”, which encompasses the debate on the concept of internationalization not only as geographical mobility, but also as institutional policies and practices. The event is intended to create a space for discussion in which the public outside UFU and the academic community can exchange ideas about the concept of internationalization and its implications in contemporary times.

To this end, the event will feature lectures by university professors and scholars, with debate panels and round-table discussions, having participants able to ask questions and expose their experiences. As the event will be entirely mediated in English, it will also be a way to contribute to the development of the discursive competence of the participants in that language, thus impacting the training of pre-service teachers of the Language Course: English and English Language Degrees and the participants (internal and external community) in general.
