Fernanda Batistel

Dr. Fernanda Batistel is a Assistant Professor in the Department of Animal Sciences at the University of Florida where. She earned her B.S. in Animal Science from Santa Catarina State University in Brazil in 2011, completed the M.Sc in 2014 at University of São Paulo in Brazil and Ph.D. degrees in 2018 at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. The overall goal of Dr. Batistel’s research program is to develop effective strategies for feeding ruminant animals, allowing for efficient production, and mitigating environmental impact. Her current research interest involves the effects of dietary fatty acids on fiber digestion and rumen fermentation and the impact of nutrients on fetal programming.
